Color, scent, texture.
The criteria for choosing aren't someone else's "right answer," but your own sense of "comfort." In these interviews, we ask people active in various fields to actually use OSAJI products and share their unique approaches to "beauty" and "wellness."

Volume 06 features Momoko Hiramatsu, who, in addition to her work as a painter, organizes "ROSY CHEEKS CLUB" as a makeup artist.

- Special Interview -

Rosy cheeks create a mood.

Standing in front of the mirror, adding color to her cheeks—some people cherish that moment when a small gesture can change their mood. One such person is Momoko Hiramatsu, who, while active as a painter, also hosts makeup workshops called "ROSY CHEEKS CLUB."

"I realized that what I truly love is coloring cheeks a rosy pink and adding color to lips," she says.

Through exhibiting her works at solo exhibitions, creating illustrations, and participating in portrait drawing events, she has engaged with people and sensed their expressions and atmospheres, gradually solidifying this feeling during her creative process.

"I really enjoy the process of finding makeup that perfectly suits a person's mood, fashion, and lifestyle at that moment, much like painting, through conversations with customers who come to my makeup workshops."

For her makeup workshops, which are open to the general public, she doesn't prepare a predetermined "correct answer." Instead, she layers colors like a painting, while listening intently to each person's atmosphere and words.

"Whether you don't usually wear makeup, wear makeup but want a change, or simply want to feel refreshed, I want to help everyone find the 'rosy pink' that suits them best right now."

Ambivalence

There are feelings within me that I can't quite explain.
Like a hidden fear within admiration,
Or a state where hope and anxiety are intertwined.

When embarking on a journey into one's inner self,
Conflicting elements can coexist.
Let's bring these contradictions to the surface as they are.

And simply observe the picture that is drawn there.
Perhaps,
An unexpected treasure might be hidden within.

The dual nuances residing in the colors of spring.

The "2026 SPRING MAKEUP COLLECTION" I tried this time. What first drew me in, she said, was the theme "Ambivalence" and its visuals.

"I felt a connection to how I feel when I draw," she said. "The pastel colors that evoke spring, the soft, luminous pearl texture. Within that, conflicting elements like warmth and coolness, strength and fragility, breathe simultaneously. I thought the variations of nuanced colors that encompass both these aspects were wonderful."

Among the collection, what particularly impressed me was the "Nuance Soft Edgy Lipstick." It adheres perfectly with a thin film, leaving a subtle sheen.

"It provided plump hydration and developed a beautiful color with just one application, giving me lips as delicate as flower petals. I was delighted that my lips remained moisturized even after removing my makeup."

She was also surprised by the balance of finish and ease of use with the "Nuance Skin Sketch Foundation 00."

"It glided smoothly onto my skin, and by simply blending it with my fingers or a sponge, I achieved a beautiful finish effortlessly. I love its light feel, as it provides natural radiance and just the right amount of coverage without feeling heavy."

Moved by its usability, she visited an OSAJI store. While being taught how to use it by the staff, she also purchased other colors and the "Dual Layer Fit Sponge."

"When I used them together, the finish became even more beautiful. I was once again impressed that such a big difference could be made by just slightly changing the layering method or tools. I thought this is something I definitely want my makeup class clients to use."

She also liked its compactness and wanted to take it with her for touch-ups or when traveling.

Color and conversation unwind the mind.

Amid her busy daily life, the time Hirama finds "comfortable" is in conversations with people.

"It's the time I spend chatting with friends and family. A lot happens every day, but there are quite a few feelings you only realize after talking about them. Each time, I feel it's important to openly express what I'm feeling."

Makeup time is also a precious moment for her to change her mood.

"Even when I feel tired, if I add some color to my cheeks, I'll think, 'I really like this color after all,' or 'Maybe it looks pretty good,' and that alone lifts my spirits."

She likes to choose colors based on her mood that day, so her pouch is always lively.

"I feel every day how interesting and fun it is to be able to apply colors I love to my face and go about my daily life."

It's about gently awakening the sensations and emotions already present within through color. The "rosy" glow on her cheeks might be a small signal to affirm her current self.

Makeup Look

Lightly apply Nuance Skin Sketch Foundation 00 to your skin. For blush, blend Nuance Beam Stick EX06 horizontally, diagonally upwards from the center of the cheeks. For highlight, apply Nuance Beam Stick EX05 to the highest point of the cheeks, the bridge of the nose, and beside the bridge of the nose. For the lips, lightly spread Nuance Soft Edgy Lipstick 01 all over, blur with your finger, then reapply to the center for depth. For the eyes, apply the sunset orange from Nuance Eyeshadow Duo EX03 lightly to the upper eyelids and a little more intensely to the lower eyelids. Then, layer sparkle greige onto the center of both the upper and lower eyelids. Finally, to subtly define the soft eye look, I applied black Nuance Volume Mascara 08 .

About OSAJI

At the root of OSAJI's manufacturing philosophy
lies the existence of one woman.
She is the mother of Brand Director Masakazu Shida.

One day, she was involved in a traffic accident,
and due to the mental stress,
suddenly developed skin problems,
making her unable to use the plant-derived cosmetics she had been using.

She disliked petroleum-derived ingredients
and had always favored cosmetics made only from plant-derived ingredients,
so why did her skin suddenly reject them?
Could it be that even ingredients "safe to eat"
aren't necessarily safe for the skin?

Starting from this question, Shida began to independently study dermatology
and started making cosmetics exclusively for his mother.

It all began in his home kitchen.

After much research and repeated trial and error,
the origin of "OSAJI" was finally born.

For one single, beloved person: his mother.

Because the brand started with that heartfelt desire,
OSAJI continues to create products today with the wish to "gently embrace the skin."
